Kargo fills a gap in the GitOps ecosystem by orchestrating the lifecycle of application promotion across stages (e.g., Test → Staging → Prod). Unlike ArgoCD which syncs state, Kargo manages the flow of changes, offering a structured way to gate releases and run verification tests before promoting artifacts to the next environment.
